I Put a Spell on You

Nina Simone, known for her soulful voice, an incredible musician, blending jazz and blues, and many more styles, a  songwriter, and a civil rights activist. Her best songs include powerful anthems like “Mississippi Goddamn” and “To Be Young and Black,” and iconic covers such as “I Put a Spell on You” and “Feeling Good”(my personal favorite).

”I had spent many years pursuing excellence, because that is what classical music is all about… Now it was dedicated to freedom, and that was far more important.”

“I’ll tell you what freedom means to me. No. Fear.”
